Summer Sports Camps

Open 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday

2023 information

This camp is programmed with a balance of sports, games, activities, and free play time. Each week guarantees an abundance of sports which may include basketball, soccer, ball hockey, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, lacrosse, dodgeball, handball, and wildball.

The children registered will be split into groups based on age and athletic abilities to ensure a 5-year-old kid does not have to compete against a 12-year-old kid. For the younger kids some sports will be adaptive in order to be fun and successful. For example, a beach ball may be used in volleyball instead of a regular volleyball. The sport part of the day will have the instructors teaching skills, rules, tactics, strategies, and basic play.

The instructors will be introducing one sport in the morning and a second sport in the afternoon. Friday will be a day of team competitions trying to play each sport from the week in fun tournaments. Throughout the week there will be time to play in the park or cool off in the spray park or just go for a hike into the ravines. You can be sure your child will be kept active, introduced to new sports, and have a bundle of fun at this Sports for Kids summer camp.

This camp is offered in the Rio Terrace, Westmount, Caernarvon and Chappelle neighbourhoods

Combination Tennis/Sports Camps

This camp is offered at the Rio Terrace Community Centre location.  At either 9:00 am or 1:00 pm (depending on their Tennis abilities) the children in this camp will be walked to the tennis courts to join a 3 hour Tennis Program.  After tennis is over the children will be walked back to rejoin the Sports Camp.
